Administration instructions & patient counseling:

    Patients are instructed to instill 4 or 5 drops in the affected ear. Allow the solution to remain for 1–2 minutes.
    Alcohol is flammable, The product contains a warning to keep the product away from fire.
    Glycerin is safe but stings when applied to open wounds or abraded skin.
    No minimum age is listed on the ear-drying products generally accepted for use when the ears are exposed
    to moisture.
    No special consideration is necessary for use of these preparations in pregnant, lactating, or geriatric
    patients.

   DO NOT
       Do not use this medication if you have a ruptured eardrum or a tympanostomy tube in place (WHY !!??)
        Do not let the medication come into contact with the eyes.
        Keep medication away from fire and flames.

When to refer physician?

    Patients with a history of ear surgery or
    those experiencing pain, dizziness, or ear drainage, or
    who display symptoms suggestive of otitis externa, infection, or inflammation within the EAC, should
    receive a medical referral.
    If pain, burning, or irritation occurs with medication application or if symptoms persist after several days of
    use, a medical referral is indicated.
