   It has the longest half-life and also has the most toxicity
   (related to high dosages) .
    Its big advantage is that it can cross the blood-brainbarrier
    It is the first-line drug for the treatment of cerebral malaria

    Source: obtained from sliced roots of calumba (Jateorhiza
    Palmate), family Menispermaceae.
    Uses:
    Calumba is used as a bitter tonic. It contains no tannin, soit may
    be prescribed with iron salts.
