Esterifying acids in tropane alkaloids
1- Tropic acid: (α -phenyl- β-hydroxy-propionic acid).

 The optically active l-form occurs in hyoscyamine and
hyoscine.
 The optically inactive (racemic mixture) dl-form occurs in
atropine.
2- Atropic acid in apoatropine.
