Lipids

    2. Waxes:
         They are esters of fatty acids with higher monohydric alcohols. They also
         contain free fatty acids, alcohols, hydrocarbons and sterols

Beeswax:
    • Wax obtained by melting the walls of the honey comb with hot water and
         removing foreign matter.

Constituents:
         Myricyl palmitate (myricin) and myricyl stearate.

Uses:
         Plasters, ointment, polishes.
