be derivatized by acylation.
Trifluoroacetates (TFA), penta fluoropropionates
(PFP), or heptafluorobutyrates (HFB) are used to increase
sensitivity of detection.
• Silylation:
For alcohols, phenols, carboxylic acids, amines and
amides by using silylating agent such as
hexamethyldisilazane
