Control Measures

 Ifanyherbaldrugbecomesinfesteditmaybewiserto

sacrificeasmallconsignment rather than to risk

contaminationofotherbatches.

 Afteracontaminateddrughasbeenremoved,shelves,

walls and floors should be thoroughlycleaned and

sprayedwithacontactinsecticide.

 Weekly air-sprayingwithpyrethrins andtheuseof

slowreleasedichlorvosstrips,controlair-borninsects.

 Fumigation istheonlypracticalmeansofkillinginsects

and mites in bulk masses. Methyl bromide and

ethyleneoxide havebeencommonlyused.
