Force responsible for expelling the preparation
• Aerosols are classified in to:
Pressurized Non pressurized
vExpelling force depends on the vapour pressure of
propellants in pressurized aerosols.
• PROPELLANT
Propellant is responsible for developing the proper
pressure within the container and it expels the
product.

ü It produce vapour pressure and thus
the medication is expelled when the
valve is opened.
ü It could be used as a solvent for the
drug and affect the characteristics of
the expelled product.
