Introduction-Terminology

Therapeutic Value of Herbal Drug:

❑ The therapeutic value of the herbal drug is determined by calculating the
   concentration of the therapeutically active constituents present in the drug
   at the time of administration. Accordingly, evaluation or assessment of drugs
   is performed to judge their quality and purity.

Quality:

❑ Quality can be defined as the status of a drug that is determined by identity,
    purity, content, and other chemical, physical, or biological properties, or by
    the manufacturing processes.
