Data handling-Increase Resolution
Column length Mechanical Resolution Particle size
❑ Increasing Column length will improve separation but it will
increase the analysis time and solvent consumption and vice
versa. Resolution increases in proportion to the square root of
the theoretical plate number.
❑ Smaller particle size will provide more separation. However,
the back pressure will increase.
