2-Liquid sample
*Sample is dissolved in volatile solvents or Sample is a volatile liquid
On column injection is used
i) - Sample component (s) not decompose with high Temp.
Introduce sample into
* injection port of the column (heated chamber) OR
*the first part of the column (free from stationary phase)
if glass column, this part must be silanized.
The temp. of the injector must be higher than { by about 50 ˚C} the
highest b.p.(least volatile component), to insure instant
vaporization of all sample components.
Too low temp. of injector → incomplete vaporization
Too high temp. of injector → degradation of compound
