➢Acetyl CoA ( 2 C) condenses with
oxaloacetic acid (4 C) forming
citric acid (6 C).
➢As the first compound formed
during krebs cycle is citric acid,
this cycle is also called citric acid
cycle
➢Organic acids containing three
carboxylic acid groups are also
formed during this cycle (TCA
cycle).
