Regulation of Glycolysis
• The rate of glycolysis is regulated by the regulation of
the three irreversible enzymes (Key Enzymes).
• These enzymes catalyze what is called committed
reactions of the pathway.
• These enzymes are:
– Glucokinase (GK), Hexokinase (HK)
– Phosphofructokinase-1 (PFK-1)
– Pyruvate Kinase (PK)
