• Organ targeting
– Brain targeting for treatment of Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s
disease
• Targeting to specific tissues
– Solid tumours or inflammation sites.
• Cytosolic targets (across the cell membrane)
– Targeting cytoplasmic receptors e.g. glucocorticoid receptors.
• Subcellular compartments
– Targeting DNA by intercalating agents e.g. doxorubicin
– Nuclear targeting in gene therapy applications.

– Bactria, viruses, parasites e.g. Tuberclosis, HIV & malaria
respectively.
