Through the above-mentioned photosynthetic process various monosaccharides
are produced, via phosphorylated sugars e.g. Glucose-6-phosphate and fructose-
6-phosphate. The latter monosaccharide phosphates are then utilized by the plant
cell either as energy or as a building unit to give disaccharides and
