                              (B) LEAD IN WATER
              * SOURCES :

                Water stored in tanks painted with lead-base paint.
                Plumbo-solvency i.e. the solvent action of soft water
                on lead pipes.
                SIGNIFICANCE :
                Lead is a serious poison, it accumulates in the bone
                structure and may cause brain damage and death.
                Maximum allowed limit in drinking water 0.1 mg/L.

                 Photometric analysis :

             "Dithizone method"
                Dithizone (diphenylthiocarbazone) reagent will react
                with lead to give red color of lead dithizonate
                complex.
