Fatty acid oxidation (degradation)

β-oxidation is the process by which fatty acids,
  are broken down in mitochondria to generate
  Acetyl-CoA, which enters Krebs cycle to
  produce ATP.

It occurs in many tissues but doesn't occur in the
  brain, as fatty acid can't be taken up by the
  brain.
