Welcome!
Gurumukh Singh Tiwana
Convener, Silicon Valley Zone
Dear Hemkunt family,
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
It was a year ago I stood along with our team in
front of all of you and invited the Hemkunt Family to
th
Silicon Valley for the 35 International Symposium
th
and 16 International Keertan Darbar. Time flies very
quickly and it is with immense pleasure that Sikh
Gurdwara San Jose and Guru Nanak Khalsa School San
Jose extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you for the
event. We are hoping that this year’s event is an
exciting celebration of our youth along with
intellectual engagement, and spiritual bliss, uniting us
in a shared pursuit of understanding our Sikh religion
As hosts, we are honored to welcome our youth giving
their perspectives on Sikh religion and philosophy,
talented Keertan performers engrossing us in mesmerizing and melodious singing of Gurbani and
digital storytellers from near and far using their creativity to present their views with a modern
medium. Your participation in speech competitions, Keertan Darbar, and the Panthic Digital Voice
not only showcases your skills but also embodies the spirit of Sikh heritage and values.
During the four days that you are here, we encourage you to immerse yourselves fully in the
enriching experiences and opportunities. Engage in thought-provoking discussions, share your
unique perspectives, and express your creativity. We will strive to entertain you along the way as
we have planned multiple gatherings to bring all of us a little closer to each other. We hope that
these will bring joy to each and every one of you and leave you with memories that you can
cherish throughout your life.
We envision this Symposium as more than just a competition; it is a platform fostering Sikhi spirit
and embracing the teachings of our faith. Through your participation, may you find inspiration
that resonates beyond these halls, influencing positive change that can be carried forward for
generations.
I take this opportunity to thank the countless hours put in by Sewadars of Guru Nanak Khalsa
School in organizing the event. Also, without the support of the Sikh Gurdwara San Jose
committee, hosting such an event would not be possible and our heartfelt thanks for their
tremendous support.
Once again, extending a warm welcome to all the attendees of the Sri Hemkunt Foundation Youth
Symposium and Keertan Darbar 2024. Together, let us celebrate our heritage, showcase our
talents, and strengthen our bonds as a community united by shared values and aspirations.
