A Note from the Editor

Welcome to beautiful sunny California with blue skies,
golden hills, green fields, towering technology and

deep blue oceans. It has been a delight to work on this
souvenir book. Looking at each of your faces, reading
all of your thoughts and feelings was touching and
heart-warming. The impact of this great institution
that is Sri Hemkunt Foundation is magestic on all of us
and on our collective community. For this, my head
bows to the founders and the torch bearers of the
Foundation.

We in Guru Nanak Khalsa School are grateful to the
great team that is united in giving you all the best

experience. It all started with Molinder Singh Kohli
Papa Ji, Tara Singh Sahni Uncle, Gurbax Singh Sachdev
Uncle, Teja Singh Ji and Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh, who
thought of starting the Khalsa School in 1988. Among
its many programs to benefit the students, Sri Hemkunt
Youth Symposium became a part of our school in 1992.

Ever since then, thousands of our students have learned much of Sikh history and Guru History
through participation in this program. And they are richer for it. It has been a blessing for our
community. You will see the testimonies in the alumni section.

I have tried to do my best in incorporating as much information as I received. If I received it in
good time, I tried to be artistic and made your pictures stand out. If I got it late, I used the
information as is.

A Note to the Conveners: It is your responsibility to get pictures of ALL participants- whether
they win or not. Please take pictures as they give their speeches so that you have everyone in your
file and you can select the winning participants and send them with the hosting zone.

A Note to the Parents: It should be your responsibility to communicate with the Center Level
Conveners to make sure your child’s best face shows.

A Note to the Participants: You have worked hard. Now give a smile and have fun.

I regret any omission or mistakes I might have made. I can’t wait to see you all very soon.
