Harinder Singh Group 5 Judge

Harinder Singh was born and brought up in India. He is a graduate of
the prestigious National Defence Academy and was commissioned as

an officer in the Army. He was a consistently top performer,
standing first in the overall order of merit, country-wide, in the NDA
examination. He went on to get his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in
Electronics & Telecommunications, summa-cum-laude and has

authored several technology related papers for leading journals.

He has spent his entire working career in telecommunications and

was a pioneer in the field of satellite communications in India, having
been deputed to Indian Space Research Organization for early experimental work in 1970s with UN and
NASA sponsored projects. He lived in Sultanate of Oman for 10 years before migrating to USA in 1998.
His family consists of Savinder Kaur and two sons, Rajveer and Preet. As a new entrant, Harinder is

excited to be part of Hemkunt Foundation and is looking forward to be working with seasoned and
experienced leaders, and to be learning and furthering the cause of Sikhs and Sikhism, within and
outside USA.

Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh

Group 5 Judge
Gurinder Pal Singh is Vice President of the Sikh Gurdwara San

Jose Parbandhak Committee and also Chairman of Education
Committee at the Sikh Gurdwara San Jose. He has been serving
the Guru Nanak Khalsa School San Jose for the last 35 years. He
is regional coordinator for Sri Hemkunt Foundation Keertan

Darbar for the North Western region of USA. He has judged at
the Sri Hemkunt Foundation speech symposium both locally in
California and Internationally several times.

He holds a Ph.D degree in Physics from Tata Institute of
Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India and M.Sc in Physics (Gold
medalist) from Punjabi University Patiala. He has worked as a
scientist at Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart, Germany and IBM
Almaden Research Center in San Jose, California. In 2013 he

retired as Principal Engineer from HGST Company of Western
Digital Corporation. He holds 13 patents and 36 publications in fields of Science and engineering.
