Baalvardi Pacing Guide

The pacing guide lists weekly lessons according to the akhar taught for that week. For each
school year, we recommend designing a Baalvardi calendar according to the Khalsa School
calendar. This should take into account start day, special celebration days, and holidays
observed. The weekly guide below begins with Orientation Week, followed by special
celebration weeks for Baalvardi. Set a date for those specific weeks, then build the calendar
accordingly. The pacing guide includes lessons for 27 weeks.

Orientation for Parents and Students. During the first session, set the tone of the class as you
would like it to be for the remainder of the year. Address proper Gurdwara attire using the
Little Sikh coloring sheets as a guide. Discuss and follow the class sequence described in the
introduction letter's Class Format section. Since it is the first class, repeating the intro songs
            several times is recommended.
