Shrinky Necklaces
Materials:
- Ruff and Ready Shrinky Dink Paper
- Fine tip colorful sharpies
- Hole punch
- 7mm Jump Rings
- Lanyard String
- Printer that is compatible with shrinky paper
- Toaster oven for baking the shrinky dinks
Method:
1. Use the sheet provided with 6 Ek Onkars in ovals to make the shrinky dink
template, please use a compatible printer. Make sure to print on the rough
side of the shrinky paper. The image will be flipped so that it appears
correctly on the shiny side.
2. Each child will get one Ek Onkar oval. Color in the Ek Onkar using fine tip
sharpie of choice. The students may color in all parts of the oval if they
wish.
3. Cut the oval out and punch a hole using the hand held hole punch in the
center of the small oval.
4. Bake the shrinky, rough side up, in the toaster oven at 350°F until the
pendant shrinks to half its size and lies flat. Remove from the oven.
5. Place the jump ring in the small hole and close.
6. Measure and cut the lanyard string to fit around the head in necklace form.
String the lanyard string through the jump ring and secure with knot.
