CHAIRMAN'S
COMMENT
Welcome to our first edition of Something’s
Brewing in 2024. This is the Beverage
Standards Association magazine for those in
the hospitality sector.
I was sad to receive the news that the BSA’s
Honorary President Ranald Paterson had
passed away on the 5th of December 2023.
Ranald’s life is an adventure story, and I would
encourage you to read ‘Life well lived” in this
edition.
After several tough years for trade
associations in general due to costs of living
and generally challenging business conditions,
I feel the tide has begun to turn.
The BSA is staffed by unpaid volunteers who
selflessly give their time and resources to
ensure the ongoing success of the association.
We have a lively and talented executive group
who meet monthly to plan our activities and
membership benefits. If you are a BSA With the growing success of Something’s Brewing
