Glucomannan




         Dietary fiber, usually made from the root of the konjac

         Consists of a polysaccharide chain of glycosidic linkage are beta-D-glucose and beta-D-mannose


              with attached acetyl groups (β-(1→4)-glycosidic bond) or glucuronic acid, and phosphoric acid


              groups.

         Health benefits; reduction of serum cholesterol levels, of the risk of constipation, diabetes


              management, and inactivation of some food-poisoning bacteria.
