Green Tree Police Department Chief Colin Cleary
Hello everyone,
I would like to begin by thanking lots of people. First, my thanks to members of the Green Tree community for their support. We’ve received calls, cards, emails, all sorts of cookies and snacks from the community over the past year, complimenting or thanking us. The community also supported our ef- forts to help others. Last fall Of cer Feller spearheaded a fundraiser/donation drive for The Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. Community members (including our Mayor and Council) supported this effort, raising over $2,000 in cash/gift cards and a pickup truck full of donated supplies. He’ll be conducting another drive this fall. During the height of the pandem- ic, Christopher Alan Cropp, owner of Brutus Monroe, found out the of cers were donating to the KOSD Community Support Program and pledged to match whatever was raised, resulting in a combined $2,000 donation to the fund. More recently, GTPD personnel participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run, which raised $1,399 in donations for Special Olympic athletes. Thanks also to Jen Mathie for organizing our recent bike rodeo, and to the GTVFC and MRTSA for their assistance on National Night Out.
I would like to thank the of cers of GTPD for their continued efforts to keep our community safe. Over the past year they have worked in a challenging and constantly changing pandemic environment. They continue to provide excellent police services and keep Green Tree a safe community.
I will be joining the Mayor for his Of ce Hours on September 18th from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the gazebo behind the Municipal Building. Please stop to see me if you have a concern, complaint, or compliment. I’ll also be collecting unwanted medications during the next DEA Drug Take Back Day on October 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the rear parking lot of the Green Tree Municipal Building.
Keystone Oaks Schools are back in session. Please remember to watch for kids, watch for buses, and watch your speed in the school zone. Last year was full of schedule changes and other modi cations. I’m hopeful this year will be a less hectic for everyone, and we all have a safe and healthy fall.
