EXPRESSIONS OF AN INVITATION
Lesson : Expressions of an Invitation. ( Part 1 ).
The purpose of an invitation is invite someone to a particular even. It can be a party,
presentation, meeting, or so on. In English, an invitation is usually used to invite the person
and to ensure that the person receiving the letter is coming to the event.
Invitations may be in two forms :
• Invitation cards : used to invite someone to non-formal events, such as a
housewarming party, birthday party, etc. The invitation card should be enclosed with
a more formal letter if you want to invite someone who deserves special regard, such
as your boss, your important client, etc.
• Formal invitation letter : used to invite someone to a formal event, such as a product
presentation, meeting, and business gathering. The language of the letter should
formal, as a sign of special regard for the one we invite.
Today, our lesson (Part 1) only talk about expression on invitations in an invitation
cards.
