She reined Spirit to a walk and approached him
slowly. As their eyes met, Karyn smiled broadly, touched
by his unfailing acceptance of her desires without
hesitation or judgment. Without a word, Jacob vaulted
up and mounted the animal behind her. He held her
close to him for a long moment. Not a word was spoken
between them, yet volumes were understood. She
leaned into him, enjoying the feel of his warm, moist skin
against her back. It was as if they had rescued a sacred
poetry, lost for centuries. As in a carefully
choreographed ballet, they moved into one another.
Tenderly, she leaned her back upon his chest and laid
her head upon his shoulder. Holding his arms about her,
she closed her eyes to the warm rain playing upon her
face, tickling her eyelashes in a silent sonata.

He wrapped himself around her then... easing her
into him, enveloping her in the power of his soul. It was
almost more emotional ecstasy than she could bear.
Time truly stopped for her at that moment. There were
no creatures, no people, no sky, and no land… only the
two of them, suspended on a cloud of sweet exhilaration
and sensual beauty. He took the up reins as they began
to ride off into the night's salvation.

They rode on for nearly an hour this way. Never
speaking a word between them but entirely lost in each
other. Finally, they arrived back at the barn and
dismounted. Thunder and lightning punctuated the
darkness. Jacob wrapped the blanket around the two
of them as quickly, they ran back to the house like
teenagers, laughing and playing. This was a
wonderment Karyn had not felt in longer than she could
remember. As they approached the back door, she
paused just out of reach of the awning and turned her
              head to the heavens.
