Bettie B. Youngs
Biographer
Biographer Bettie B. Youngs, Ph.D., Ed.D., acclaimed as the author of 21 books translated into 23
languages, including the best-seller The House That Love Built: The Story of Millard and Linda Fuller,
Founders of Habitat for Humanity, led to Hampton Roads creating an imprint in her name. Seeing
the global distribution potential of digital technology in the publishing world, she’d go on to create
a publishing company of her own. Says Youngs, “In today's times, we can literally reach readers most
anywhere in the world. With the click of a button, we can translate content not only into the reader's
native language, but in the reader's format of choice, be it Large Print, Braille, DAISY, or interactive
formats that readers can manipulate themselves to navigate between text and audio and upload
them most anywhere around the world via Espresso Book Machine. It's a fascinating technology.”

Though busier than ever with several books in film production, she continues with her commitment
to service and philanthropy. Bettie served on the Board of Directors for the Fuller Center International
and founded the Fuller Center for Housing San Diego partnering with the City of San Diego, Urban
Corps, and Community Housing Works. She is a charter member of The National WWII Museum,
an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute, and is a member of the Executive Team for the American
Management Association for Executive leaders in business, industry, and education.

Do Pigs Fly? Navigating Career Change:
After more than 15 years as co-anchor of the #1 television news team in San Diego, Susan Taylor
walked away from her highly successful television career to join Scripps Health. Why she left is the
focus of this keynote speech. Susan has perfected the art of navigating career change. This keynote
presentation takes the audience on an impactful journey that illuminates the path and offers
invaluable advice. Audiences are left with a clear understanding of how such change is both possible
- and successful. For companies, the ROI of this journey aims to reduce the turnover rate and increase
company and customer loyalty, leading to happier, more productive employees.
Gadgets, Gizmos & Compassionate Care=Good Health:
Susan Taylor highlights technology that is fundamentally changing the way healthcare is delivered
allowing doctors to be able to treat you for less money, outside the doctor’s office and in some cases
be able to monitor you, no matter where you are in the world. Some of these devices are implanted in
the body and are life-saving.
