Dear Readers,

Change is sometimes a hard word to embrace. However, for San Diego Woman, we are thrilled with the
changes that we are about to undergo. After nine years, we are ready to grow and become a bigger and better
publication. 2017 will mark our 10th anniversary. At this point we decided that we needed to examine who we
are and who we want to be, not only for ourselves, but also (more importantly) for our readers.
We have been diligently working with an extraordinary strategic planner, who has allowed us to see some of our
untapped potential and to find areas that we feel we can do better than any other media source in San Diego.
Our readers are women of varying ages and many of these women are in a position to reinvent themselves.
They have gone through many stages in life. They have dated, gotten married, had
children, watched them grow and become less dependent on them. They have either
returned to previous careers or have decided to reinvent themselves. They have decided
that an interest that may have only previously been a love of theirs, could now become a
life’s work, and they have spent time researching how to go about doing this.
Often the process involved change…lots of change.
It is, with this in mind, that we are announcing our Chameleon Awards. We have designed
and will be presenting an annual award to a San Diego Woman, in several different
categories, who has done just that. She has changed her life, started a new career,
reinvented herself, and helped herself or possibly her community. The awards will be
presented in several categories and we will be announcing the opening of nominations of
candidates in the next few months.
4 In addition, we have expanded our Advisory Board to include some top professionals in all
areas in San Diego. We will be introducing them in our upcoming issue in 2017, so stay
tuned for more news and updates about these and other changes coming shortly.
Though some things will change, one thing will not and that is the inspiring stories about the great women of our
town.
This is our Health, Wellness and Beauty Issue. You will not want to miss the
information you will acquire by reading this issue. So sit back relax and enjoy.
