How to Solve Question 2

In order to find the numbers that go in the puzzle, the quotient of the division sentence must be the same as
the first factor in the related multiplication sentence. Write the two related sentences, as shown below. You
cannot use the same numbers in the related sentences. Cross out the numbers you cannot use as you are
working to find the missing numbers.
Method 1: 8 4 2 and 3 2 6
Method 2: 6 3 2 and 4 2 8

Have students use the sentences from method 1 and 2 to find the correct answers.
You cannot complete the subtraction sentence if you use 8 4 2 and 3 2 6. So, you must use 6 3 2

and 4 2 8 to complete the puzzle.
