speaking, and writing).

Converting Raw Scores to Scaled Scores
❉ Reading Scaled Score
Most questions are worth 1 point, but the last question of each reading is worth more
than 1 point. The last question of each reading set is a Prose Summary Question or a
Classifying, Categorizing, and Organizing Information Question. Partial credit is used for
scoring these question types. A Prose Summary Question is worth 0-2 points. If you select
only 1 correct answer, you will receive 0 point. If you select 2 correct answers, you will
receive 1 point. If you select all 3 correct answers, you will receive 2 points. A Classifying,
Categorizing, and Organizing Information Question is usually worth 0-3 points. For 0, 1,
or 2 correct answers, you will receive 0 point. For 3 correct answers, you will receive 1
point; for 4 correct answers, you will receive 2 points; and for 5 correct answers, you will
receive 3 points. The total raw score on the reading section is converted to a scaled score
of 0 to 30.
❉ Listening Scaled Score
All questions are worth 1 point. The total raw score on the listening section is converted
to a scaled score of 0 to 30.
❉ Speaking Scaled Score
The response for each task is rated on a scale of 0 to 4 according to the independent
speaking rubrics and integrated speaking rubrics. The average of all 6 ratings is converted
to a scaled score of 0 to 30. (See the following speaking rubrics and speaking score
conversion table.)
❉ Writing Scaled Score
The response for each task is rated on a scale of 0 to 5 according to the independent
writing rubrics and integrated writing rubrics. The average of the scores on the 2 writing
tasks is converted to a scaled score of 0 to 30. (See the following writing rubrics and
writing score conversion table.)
