Activity 1 Integers
All of the whole numbers and their opposites are integers. The opposite
of an integer is the same distance away from 0, but on the other side of
0 on a number line. The opposite of 3 is 3. The opposite of 0 is 0.
Learn about the integers on a straight line.
The numbers to the right of 0 are positive integers 1, 2, 3, and so
on. The numbers to the left of 0 are negative integers 1, 2, 3, and so
on. This straight line is called the number line. 0 is known as the origin.
