The FDCC’s
Membership
Recruitment
Committee (“MRC”)
is off to a great start.
Nominations are
being made almost
every day. We
received more than 10 nominations
during our Toronto meeting. Other
nominations were made during our
Corporate Counsel Symposium.
Section Chairs have promised
nominations.
Members throughout the
organization have been proposing
“over and above” people who
would enjoy FDCC membership.
Nominations have come in from all
corners: new members, long-time
members, in-house members, and
sponsors.
If you are new to FDCC, consider
bringing along a friend for what we
hope will be a long FDCC journey.
If you are closer to the end of your
journey, consider someone in your
organization who might continue
behind you.
Nominators have also included
people who are not very active in
the FDCC, and that’s great. We
welcome both your nominations,
and your increased activity.
Nominees have also come from
far and wide. Our international
members are actively participating
in recruitment. And an American
member recently suggested
someone from Iceland.
To continue our progress, please
think about the people you know,
respect, and like. Do you work
with people who might enjoy
FDCC Membership? In your firm
or company, are there impressive
colleagues or “up and comers”?
Have you had a case or transaction
where one of the other lawyers
impressed you? Are you active
in other groups where you know
people who would add to the
FDCC professionally, personally, or
culturally? These are the people we
want. Nominate them.
When talking with prospects,
please explain the benefits of
membership. Being accepted is
an accreditation; it’s a prestigious
recognition. Membership provides
access to cutting edge training
and resources. Membership is a
unique and valuable networking
opportunity. And membership
provides wonderful opportunities
