It has been a
tremendous year for
the FDCC Diversity
Committee. In
keeping with the
FDCC’s Diversity
Initiative, the
Committee continues its work,
on behalf of our membership,
to advocate for inclusiveness in
the legal profession. There is a
recognition that the more diverse
we are, the better equipped we
become to understand and relate to
our colleagues, clients, juries, and
the communities we serve.
Achieving inclusion in our
profession requires a focused
and collaborative approach that
addresses the challenges faced
by underrepresented groups.
By actively working to increase
the diverse membership within
our organization, it becomes
more reflective of the clients and
industries we advise. The result
is new perspectives and different
approaches to advise our clients
and help our corporations thrive.
The Committee remains focused
on its goals to increase our diverse
membership while proactively
engaging our current diverse
members.
We have a lot to be proud of as an
organization. Our FDCC colleagues
have led thoughtful and instructive
presentations of case law and
trends affecting DEI programing
and policies at our firms and
corporations. We have expressed
the fatigue associated with
advancing the cause for diversity in
the face of skepticism and criticism.
But we continue to persevere. To
that end, we have hosted podcasts,
book clubs, cultural events, and
fellowship to both educate and
advance our collective objective of
diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Diversity Committee is here
to serve you, and we invite your
