Supporting Local Businesses in 2020
BRISTOL – If ever there was a year to support local busi- nesses, 2020 seems to be it, so while shoppers head out to find gifts for family and loved ones, business owners wish to remind shoppers that downtown Bristol is the ideal spot to select quality gifts for their family and friends.
A trip around the square might begin with Imagine, a store that carries women’s cloth- ing made in the U.S., Canada and by certified trade companies. From socks to jewelry, casual out- fits and lots of fine accessories, it is a shop that will please all the women on any shopping list.
Just down the street is Twin Designs, offering unique art, books and Newfound nostalgic pieces available, along with a wide selection of pottery, quality children’s stuffed animals, games and other gift items. This year they also have beautiful hand- made gift items available from Smile Makers as well as delicious fudge from Bristol’s own Mill Fudge Factory.

Just beyond is Fran’s Ceramics where people can either purchase gifts or create some of their own. The shop not only offers finished ceramic home decorations for sale but also invites individuals or groups to stop in to make gift items of their own. From orna- mental ceramic Christmas trees to home décor, there is some- thing to please all in their vast inventory. Classes are available for both large and small groups
as well as birthday parties. Around the bend in Central Square, the APU Mountain Spirit Medicinal shop special- izes in Native American items. Beautiful clothing, healing herbal remedies and more can be found inside, while Riverview Artisan’s Gallery beside them has top- notch art, handcrafted jewelry, wood work, pottery and much more from New Hampshire ar-
tisans. New to Central Square is Relaxation Station offering mas- sage, facials, nails, and waxing.
But that’s not all; there are even more places to shop for the perfect gift on Pleasant Street.
Homestead Creations is on the second floor at 5 Pleasant St. where they sell handcrafted items, Color Street Nails, Avon products, and Paparazzi Jewelry for adults and children. She also has a selection of men’s jewelry along with maple syrup and N.H.

Those who want a bite to eat while they shop don’t have to venture far in downtown Bris- tol either. LinCross Roast Beef, Subs and More has a delicious menu filled with their famous roast beef subs, soups and other lunch or dinner items. On Cen-

Bristol Diner, Gina’s Place, and Gilley’s Restaurant on Lake Street offer breakfast and lunch while Cielito’s Mexican Restau- rant on S. Main St. opens in early afternoon to provide meals well
into the evening hours. Another popular
spot is Shackett’s Brewery on Cen- tral Square, which has lo- cally brewed ales and food for their pa-

Across from the Post Office on Lake St., you will find Kilter Fitness to help with your New Year's resolutions, PVF Builders for your dream kitchen or home, Newfound Impressions for custom calendars, holiday cards, and stickers, Shear Defi- nition for the holiday primp or gift certificate and Renaissance Florals to add that festive flare to your home. All with off street parking and offering gift certifi-

Heading out of town toward the lake people will find Cardi- gan Mountain Store, a nostalgic place where shoppers will find artwork, handcrafted items, jew- elry, and even a seat to relax and have a bite to eat amidst their rustic country atmosphere. And no one should forget Kathleen’s Cottage either; annually voted the #1 Irish restaurant and pub
in New Hampshire.
Further down the road, Au-
buchon Hardware also pro- vides plenty of gift ideas for the homeowner, gardener, and bird watcher in your life.
While these are only just a few of the places people can shop lo- cally this Christmas, they are all great examples of gift ideas peo- ple can purchase to support our small business community. Stop in, browse, and support them as they are here to serve our local community.
