Bake a Holiday Cookie Buffet
The Friends of the Mi- not-Sleeper Library tradition- ally hold a Holiday Cookie Buffet fundraiser, where the community can enjoy choosing and purchasing delicious treats to take home.
This year is different with COVID-19. Instead of having the cookies available for pur- chase, we have compiled the many cookie recipes in a new cookbook, Holiday Cookie Buffet. As you flip through the pages, you will find mouth wa- tering color photos and recipes of different kinds of cookies. So bake a buffet at home for the holidays or give it as a gift to the
the Summer Read- ing Program, Hal- loween treats and hosting events for adults.
The cook- books are $20.00 and your pur- chase will allow us to continue our programs. They are avail- able at the Mi- not-Sleeper Library, Car- digan Mt. Country Store, Crazy Cat Winery, Imag-
bakers on your list!
You will not only be enjoy-
ing all kinds of recipes, you will be supporting the work of the Friends of the Minot-Sleeper Library. Some of the things the Friends do are story times, books for newborns in the area,
ine, Renaissance Florals, Riv- erview Artisans, Styles by Julie and Twin Designs.
They are also available on- line at minotsleeperlibrary.org. They may be picked up curb- side at the library or shipped for an additional $5.00.
Buy a book, preheat the oven and have fun! Thank you for your support!
The Friends of the Minot- Sleeper Library is a 501-c(3). Design and printing by New- found Impressions.
Have you ever wanted to help the homeless but not sure how? Once per month, Cathy Dragon- fly & Jessika Tucker gather neces- sary items from the Lakes Region and distribute them directly to homeless encampments.
We are not affiliated with any particular non-profit, we are just doing this from our hearts because we’ve both had expe- riences with family members living on the streets home free and transient. We’re always sur- prised how helpful people are when asked so in this season of holiday preparedness, covid and winter fast approaching we will go down once again December 1st and are requesting donations you may no longer need yourself.
In preparation, the last week of each month, we gather items from the eastern shores of Lake WInnipesaukee and then drive to Gilford & Meredith to meet people with more donations. Another goal we’d like to do is
help the homeless in the Laconia or Tilton area. If anyone knows of an encampment in Belknap county please reach out to let us know. Or if you would like to start a similar program in your area we can help you get started.
Items of the greatest need are sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, warm socks, boots, hoodies, hats, gloves, hand-warmers, blankets, coats, individually wrapped snacks and sanitary items like wipes. With unemployment and evictions at dangerous levels, shelters at maximum capacity or closed because of the raging virus it’s more important than ever.
If you think you have any of these items and would like to drop them off in Wolfeboro, Os- sipee or wish to arrange pick-up please reach out to us at Dragon- fliesAntiques@gmail.com or on Facebook at Catherine S. Drag- onfly or Jessika Tucker.
