2.9 Related Works

There is total five research papers related to the researcher project field. In

this paper, the researcher wants to do the research for suitable machine
learning algorithm.

2.9.1 Analysis And Prediction of Crime Against Women in India

Using Machine Learning Algorithms

This project focuses on the analysis and prediction of crimes against women

in India using machine learning algorithms. The aim is to address the
alarming increase in crime rates and provide a tool for crime detection and

prevention. According to the National Commission for Women (NCW), India

received 23,722 complaints of crimes against women in 2020, marking the
highest number in the past six years.

The paper utilizes linear regression and random forest algorithms to predict

crime rates for different types of crimes against women in various states of

India. The analysis is based on data obtained from the National Criminal
Records Bureau (NCRB) and covers the years 2020-2024. Data

preprocessing techniques are applied to clean the dataset, removing irrelevant
features and handling missing values.

The implementation involves the development of a web portal using the Flask

architecture and MongoDB for data storage. The portal allows users to input
parameters such as the year, state, and crime category to request analysis and

prediction of crime rates against women. The system retrieves the requested

information and presents it in the form of visualizations, including line graphs
and bar charts, for easy interpretation. Figure 2.13 shows the flow of the

project in block diagram.
