able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless...
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus
Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians, 1:9-11)
Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong.
Not that people will see that we have stood the test but that you
will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed.
For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the
truth. We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong;
and our prayer is for your perfection. (2 Corinthians, 13:7-9)
For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in Jesus [as
God's prophet] and your love for all the saints [those who de-
vote themselves to God], I have not stopped giving thanks for
you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the
God... the glorious... may give you the spirit of wisdom and
revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that
the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you
may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of
His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably
great power for us who believe. That power is like... His mighty
strength... (Ephesians, 1:15-20)
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your
waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with
your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel
of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with
which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil
one... And pray... on all occasions with all kinds of prayers
and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on
praying for all the saints [who devote themselves to God]. Pray
