Pleasant Words from the Gospel

... But do this with gentleness and respect keeping a clear con-
science, so that those who speak maliciously against your good
behavior... may be ashamed of their slander. It is better, if it is

God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. (1 Pe-
                   ter, 3:15-17)

... Yet for us there is but one God... from whom all things came
and for Whom we live; and... through Whom all things came
and through Whom we live. But not everyone knows this.
Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat
such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol,
and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. (1 Corinthians,
                   8:5-7)

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confi-
dence before God and receive from Him anything we ask [our
prayers are answered], because we obey His commands and do
what pleases Him. (1 John, 3:21-22)

... In later times some will abandon the faith and follow de-
ceiving spirits and things taught by demons... whose con-
sciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They... order
them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be re-
ceived with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know
                   the truth. (1 Timothy, 4:1-3)

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted
and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds
and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but

by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedi-
ent and unfit for doing anything good. (Titus, 1:15-16)
