"Tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home
or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields
for me [for the approval of God] and the Gospel will fail to
receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes,
brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with
them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. But
many who are first will be last, and the last first." (Mark, 10:29-
31)

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever
loses his life for me [for the approval of God] will find it.

What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world,
yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for
his soul? (Matthew, 16:25-26)

[Jesus:] And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sis-
ters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake [for
the approval of God] will receive a hundred times as much
and will inherit eternal life [paradise]. But many who are
first will be last, and many who are last will be first. (Matthew,
19:29-30)
