To Live for God's Approval Alone
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for
the glory of God. (1 Corinthians, 10:31)
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working
for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive
an inheritance from the Lord as a reward... (Colossians, 3:23-24)
He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He
who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God;
and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to
God. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies
to himself alone. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the
Lord. (Romans, 14:6-8)
... This is love for God: to obey His commands. And His com-
mands are not burdensome... This is the victory that has over-
come the world—our faith. (1 John, 5:2-4)
... This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who
obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus. (Rev-
elation, 14:12)
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the
Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every
good work, growing in the knowledge of God. (Colossians,
1:10)
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because
anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that
He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews, 11:6)
