So we make it our goal to please Him [God], whether we are
at home in the body or away from it. (2 Corinthians, 5:9)

Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or
am I trying to please men? (Galatians, 1:10)

So you also, when you have done everything you were told to
do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done
                 our duty.'" (Luke, 17:10)

Children, obey your parents [who have faith] in everything, for
this pleases the Lord. (Colossians, 3:20)

Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother.
                 (Mark, 3:35)

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and
thanksgiving be made [to God] for everyone—for kings and all
those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in
all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God... (1
                 Timothy, 2:1-3)

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should
learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for
their own family and so repaying their parents and grandpar-
ents, for this is pleasing to God. (1 Timothy, 5:4)

Jesus answered, "My teaching is not my own. It comes from
Him [God] Who sent me.   If anyone chooses to do God's will,
he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or

whether I speak on my own. He who speaks on his own does
so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of
the One [God] Who sent him is a man of truth... (John, 7:16-18)
