So we make it our goal to please Him [God], whether we are
at home in the body or away from it. (2 Corinthians, 5:9)
Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or
am I trying to please men? (Galatians, 1:10)
So you also, when you have done everything you were told to
do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done
our duty.'" (Luke, 17:10)
Children, obey your parents [who have faith] in everything, for
this pleases the Lord. (Colossians, 3:20)
Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and
thanksgiving be made [to God] for everyone—for kings and all
those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in
all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God... (1

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should
learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for
their own family and so repaying their parents and grandpar-

he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or
whether I speak on my own. He who speaks on his own does
so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of
