Pleasant Words from the Gospel
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be
shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably
with reverence and awe... (Hebrews, 12:28)
For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of un-
just suffering because he is conscious of God. But how is it to
your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure
it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is
commendable before God. (1 Peter, 2:19-20)
... Each one should retain the place in life that the Lord as-
signed to him and to which God has called him. This is the
rule I lay down in all the churches. (1 Corinthians, 7:17)
... but only he who does the will of God [will enter the king-
dom of paradise]. (Matthew, 7:21)
... From Whom all things came and for Whom we live; and
there is but one Lord... through Whom all things came and
through Whom we live. (1 Corinthians, 8:5-6)
Indeed, those who are under the control of human nature
