Following the September 11 attacks there
was a visible rise in the level of racist attacks
in the United States, where racism had in any
case spread widely during the 1990s.
Innocent people lost their lives in these at-
tacks, aimed at Muslims' homes, workplaces
and schools, in just the same way they did in
the attack on the World Trade Center.
