4. Stopping the flow of the Euphrates:

One of the portents of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is: The stopping of the
River Euphrates. (Small Book of Portents of the Mahdi of the End
Times, p. 39.)

Allah's Messenger (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
"The Hour will not come to pass be fore the riv er Euphrates dries up to
un veil the moun tain of gold, for which peo ple will fight. Ninety-nine
out of one hun dred will die [in the fight ing], and ev ery man among
them will say: 'Perhaps I may be the on ly one to re main alive.'" (Sahih
Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The Eu-
phrates re veals the treas ures with in it self. Whoever sees it should not
take any thing from it." (Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi 'Alamat
al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 28.)
