69. The greening of the deserts:

The Day of Judgment will not come un til there are riv ers and gar dens
in Arabia. (Ibn Ahmad Hanbal, Musnad, vol. 17, p. 22, no. 8819.)

To green the de serts, suf fi cient amounts of wa ter and land must be
ob tained. One rel e vant tech nol o gy now be ing de vel oped is com put er-
con trolled ir ri ga tion. This en a bles wa ter to be sent di rect ly to the plant's
roots so that not a sin gle drop is wast ed. Given that pu ri fied wa ter is a
cru cial el e ment of desert ag ri cul ture, flood and sea wa ter pro vide the ba -
sis of ag ri cul tur al tech nol o gy. In this way, vast wa ter re sour ces will be ob -
tained, a de vel op ment that al so will be a ma jor sup port of coun tries' econ -
o mies.
