PORTENTS AND FEATURES OF THE MAHDI'S COMING
People will come to the Mahdi, between the Rukun and
the Maqam, and take an oath of alle giance to him,
against his own wish es. "If you refuse, we will strike
you," they will say. And the peo ples of Earth and sky
will approve of him.

There will be con flict at the time of the cal iph's death.
One from the peo ple of Madinah will run to Makkah. A
group of Makkans will bring him forth (from where he
is) against his wish es and take an oath of alle giance to
him between the black stone (al-hajar al-aswad) in the
Ka'bah and the place of Ibrahim.

… And then he will reluc tant ly accept their oaths of alle -
giance. If you wit ness this, take the oath of alle giance to
him, because he is the Mahdi in heav en and on Earth.

The Mahdi, who is from Fatima's line, will be brought
forth in Makkah, and oaths of alle giance will be offered
to him against his wish es.
