turning away from the true faith. It is a
grave perversion to practice a form of
religion reminiscent of the idols of the pagan
faiths instead of being sincerely bound to One God. Those
who say they believe in One God while sheltering behind such
accounts should be very careful. A Christian who believes in the
Trinity may want to believe in One God, and may regard himself
as doing so, and that is a good thing; but belief in the Trinity can
never be belief in the One God. By believing in the Trinity a
Christian is, knowingly or otherwise, falsely ascribing divine sta-
tus to other entities and thus engaging in polytheism.
In one verse of the Koran, our Lord issues the following warn-
ing to those Christians who go astray on the subject of the Trinity:
People of the Book! Do not go to excess in your religion. Say noth-
ing but the truth about God. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was
only the Messenger of God and His Word, which He cast into
Mary, and a Spirit from Him. So believe in God and His
Messengers. Do not say, "Three." It is better that you stop. God is
only One God. He is too Glorious to have a son! Everything in the
heavens and in the Earth belongs to Him. God suffices as a
Guardian. (Koran, 4:171)
2. The danger of all endeavors coming to
naught
Another great danger our genuine Christian
brothers will face because of the error of the Trinity is
the possibility of all the efforts they claim to make
in the name of God coming to nothing. This is
a great danger for Christians who, disregard-
ing reminders and warnings, continue to as-
