Horizontal Double Connection Knot
This modified double connection knot is made by tying two flat knots and tightening
them horizontally. The unique characteristic of the knot is that the two cord ends
emerge from the left and right sides of the knot body. Because a single knot by itself
has little impact, a series of knots is normally tied together to form a “tassel.” This is
ideal for decorating an object as the long series of knots form the tassel head and the
two cord ends the tassel tail.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Press the right cord end over the left cord section and tie an ear loop around
it anticlockwise. Pull the right cord end through itself and tie a flat knot. Step 2. Use
the left cord end to tie an ear loop clockwise around the flat knot tied with the right
cord end. Then pull the left cord end through itself and tie a flat knot. Step 3. Pull the
left cord end and left cord section together towards the right. At the same time, pull
the right cord end and right cord section together towards the right.
HINT
Before tightening any double connection knot, adjust the flat knots with your fingers
in the way you desire and then only tighten the knot.
