TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use a portion of four different color cords to tie
a round brocade knot with 64 outer ear loops.Wrap
every fourth loop.
2. Use the coffee color cord to do the outer circle.
Use the green cord to tie another round brocade
knot in the inner circle. Hence these two cords must
be longer.
3. See page 27 for the knotting technique.

This design comprises a hollow and revolving
modified pan chang knot. First lay out the design
on a piece of chipboard or a shallow cardboard
box, then estimate the total number of ear loops
and the central space required. The latter must
be big enough to accommodate the inner knots
so that upon tightening they will look neither
too loose nor too dense.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Tie according to the design using the modified
pan chang knotting technique.Take special care
with the revolving portions. It is faster and less
messy to first arrange the long sides of the pan
chang knot on the board, then concurrently knot
the inner and outer circle with two separate cords.
2.Tie a constellation knot within each of the six
“water droplets.”
3. Make a compound brocade knot in the center.
