This knot formation is made by combining
39 the techniques of the pan chang knot with
compound outer loops, the shiftweave pan chang
knot and the pan chang good luck knot.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use five ear loops on each side to tie a shift-
weave pan chang good luck knot with compound
outer loops, with four groups of 180-degree shift,
the central two groups one up, one down, and
the top and bottom groups two up, two down.
2.Tie the second layer using the ordinary pan
chang good luck knotting technique.
3.Tie each corner loop into a good luck knot with
four outer loops using the pull and wrap tech-
nique, then tie each outer loop of the good luck
knot into a cloverleaf knot.

compound outer loops, the shiftweave pan chang
knot and the hui ling knot.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use six ear loops on each side to tie a shift-
weave pan chang knot with overlapped loops,
with three groups of 180-degree shift, one up,
one down and two up, two down, to surround
the hui ling knot which is right at the center.
2. Adjust and tighten to stress the central shift-
weave pattern.The hollow spaces within the knot
formation lend more decorative value.
